Hello Friends and Family,
This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men.
Why I am walking? Walking the 3Day For a Cure has been something I have wanted to do for years now. Never mind, that it is a huge personal challenge to walk 60 miles over the course of three days, I've wanted to walk in honor of my cousin Debbie who is a 20 year survivor. She battled breast cancer at a young age with three small children. She is the most vibrant, carefree and loving woman I know.
In addition to walking for Debbie, I will walk in honor of mother's of friends of mine, an old teacher that is presently in the battle and a for a friend that was diagnosed earlier this year. It seems like every time I turn around someone else we know is diagnosed.
The 3Day for a cure is a BIG challenge, but nothing compared to those facing the fight of breast cancer. I hope you will support me any way you can in this challenge!
I've set my personal goal of raising $2300. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? Any amount helps! Net proceeds from the 3-Day for the Cure fund innovative global breast cancer research and local community programs supporting education, screening and treatment. Virtually every major advance in the fight against breast cancer in the last 28 years has been impacted by a Komen for the Cure grant.
Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train. You can give online at The3Day.org. Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising webpage and make a donation. You can also call 800-996-3DAY to donate over the phone.
Somewhere in the world, a woman dies from breast cancer every 69 seconds. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
Thank you in advance for your generosity! I hope some of you can come out and cheer us on. September 23-25, 2011 in Washington, D.C!!
Love,
Julie Hall
P.S. Ask your employer if they will double your donation through a matching gift program!
